I got them to do it for free. They contract one of the best tinting companies to do their tinting for all thier new cars. It's a ceramic based tint so there is no interference with cell/radio signals.
I can see from the pictures that you took it all the way to Hawaii Kai too, didn't you? (assuming from your nick that you live in Kailua) The sale rep I had wasn't Jill, but since she hook you up with a free tinting job, perhaps I should ask to see her next time... What a traitor? Is that legal (35%) tint? I was thinking about 10% tint (uhm.. yes....illegal... but safety check is good for 2 years initially anyway) when I get mine.
paeko73, the tint is legal because the dealership did it but I like it and wouldn't be too happy with it much darker at night.
I drove that thing all over the south side yesterday; first stop was back to radio shack at ala moana to exchange the defective mini plug for my iPod so I could listen to it in the car, then to the new Best Buy, then I went cruising down H1 to Kalanianaole hwy to Hawaii Kai then around that way back to Kailua. It was raining and overcast out this way.
So have you ordered a car? 350? Let us know what you are getting.
Oh, unless you really want them, don't let them talk you into getting the wheel locks. They seem to think it is required because it is listed on the sticker.
Kailua250, I ordered a 250 RWD like yours, but I went with the Glacier Frost Mica with Sterling interior. The saleman didn't know for sure when that one comes in. He said that there's one GMC 250 coming in late November, still available, but that one does not have any options on it, not even the 18's wheels. I told him that I will have to look at that one first to see how it looks like (he himself has not seen the 17's either). Therefore, I'm taking a chance on that "base model" being sold to someone else since I can't order 2 (knowing that I'm buying only 1). Good to hear that you took it almost around the east end of the island. Did you try the handling around the curves by Sandy Beach? No try it yet.. it's still breaking in.
Did you trade in your old vehicle?
I don't know if I could have 17s. The 18s look small to me. But I haven't seen it in person either. That's the true test.
I traded my focus in. Definitely a step up, wouldn't you say!? I should have sold it myself. I could have gotten $2k more for it. But I am lazy when it comes to selling things myself. It was such a hassle selling my Grand Cherokee 3 years ago.

Laziness is not really a matter here, especially with the uncertainty on availability of the IS. I will probably have to trade mine in too because if I get mine sold privately, and the new IS not arrived on time, I'm gonna have to ride the bus!!! The salesman told me to sell mine privately too. He said that he'll give me 2 weeks (from the date the IS arrives at the dock until the date it actually can be picked up).... I'll think about that.. putting my current car on the Buy&Sell or something.
