I, on the other hand, would prefer to do all that by myself. And that is why I've always opt for manual transmission.

I don't think blipping is needed at all in auto tranny. As advanced as modern day auto tranny, I doubt it will let you say jump from 6th gear to 2nd gear. I have a feeling the car will try to perserve itself and lock you out of those gears which will send the revs high.

Blipping in luxury cars is mostly done to give that seamless shifting feeling if done at all. I don't think their focus is for you to keep the car stable around corners. I blip on my motorcycle cause if I don't, my rear tire locks and the sudden spike in rpm (into the 12k arena) may potentially kill my clutch.
