That's not necessarily true. But are you planning to buy one anytime soon?

I've already given up my entire hope in getting any meaningful answer from "the Lexus Expert".

The only thing I do hope now is for Mr. Fukusato to at least read all of our questions so that even though barely any of them can be answered in public, he gets the hint of what the potential buyers are really looking for.

Well, it's consistent with their characteristically secretive behaviour regarding future models, they don't want the competitors to know too much of what they're doing . . .

Not necesarily true. They asked the guy behind the 1IS if a turbo was coming and he didn't comment either. And it never came.

Default Round 4 Q & A from C & D

Q) What kind of performance-oriented accessories will Lexus offer on the new IS?
A) Initially, some of the accessories we'll offer are a performance exhaust system and a body kit with rear spoiler.

Q) What will TRD and/or L-Tuned roles be in future models?
A) There are no current activities and nothing planned at this point in time.

Q) Does Lexus plan to create a performance division (ala Mercedes AMG or BMW M), or a line of performance parts for the new IS?
A) A performance division is the subject of ongoing research. Due to its new performance credentials, we think the aftermarket will do a great job filling the pipeline with IS performance parts.

Q) Does Lexus plan to race the new IS in America?
A) Yes, we're currently planning to enter road racing in the 2006 season with Team Lexus. We'll announce further details of our plans in the near future.

It sucks that Lexus seems to continue to leave the performance crowd to the aftermarket. If they are serious about establishing the "new performance credentials" they're talking about, they've gotta step up to the plate and do it themselves, from the factory I say!

.

You guys think that TRD/L-Tuned will make anything for the IS, or that Lexus will make a performance division instead?

Well, that's nto fully true. Lexus plans to release a sports exhaust system and a body kit to begin, sorta Scion-ic of them. I don't think we'll be seeing the L-Tuned division taking on the M3's anytime soon, however.
