2 door coupe vs 2 door hardtop convertible, i take the hardtop convertible, i believe most of you saw the concept pix, if lexus will make the 2 door exactly or very close to it, then i'm all-in on that.

And look where he's posting. The second-gen IS forum!
Amazing how feverishly you argued with me until news of the second-gen IS actually came out and then you started ignoring PMs and not even confirming read receipts. Talk about a sore loser.
So how reliable are your "sources at Lexus" again? I thought you had friends at the top of corporate who knew everything that was going on and wouldn't lie to you?

Hi there Torrance/Gardena..heres an idea..
Ok , now I confess Im not the richest Lexus owner, but as I understand it, it's more important to be a thinking type. Sooooo I was a thinkin'...
I have a bigass Lexus sedan in the family now, Im good on sedan.
My commuter car is a MK II series ('90-98) Toyota Mr2. Nice car.
I'm ready to move up, but would like a Lexus 2 door.
I would hate to give up my glass roof (mr2) with shades because
it's better than a convertible.
Why?
Well, in the spring and fall a convertible is fine. But, in summer, in Kansas City or Albuquerque,
its too damn hot!!! In winter its too damn cold.!!! Sooo you get to see black canvas over your head 1/2 the year. ..it sucks. ... But with T-tops or glass targa you get to
enjoy the view and sunshine all year round in air conditioned/heated comfort.
Give me an IC350 or EC430 2 door T or targa or option the two part folder with a glass option.
That would make me, a target demo buyer, happy.
Thanks for the vine.

PS: Y'all should read : "The End of Detroit " by Micheline Maynard. Great great book.

I'm as excited as everyone else about the 2nd gen IS, but one thing that got my attention was the IS460, spy pics from Germany same track where the LF-A was tested.

The hardtop convertible will debut at the Paris Auto Show on October 2nd, 2008.
For now, Lexus is only making a hardtop convertible. If you want a coupe, but the convertible, and never put the top down.
Stay tuned for an Official Thread.
Otherwise, it's time to close this thread.
