But I think the 330 (next one) also will not have a manual transmission (right?) just like the M5 has the 7A/T right now... and people said they are waiting for a manual...

I think Benz set a bar for auto transmissions when you look... they don't even offer a manual transmission anymore. It's all Auto and they have quite an abundance of awesome track ETA numbers. . .
Actually Benz still do offer manual transmissions here in the C230/320 sport sedans, C230 coupe, SLK350.
In Europe, I' ve been in E class taxi's with manual transmissions.
But no manual transmissions in any of their AMG models

I'll be replacing my IS with a new IS350 but I'm gonna wait until the 07 comes out. I figure they will probably (or could) tweak some things after the first year of production just like they did from the 01 - 02 models. Never know what they could come up with in a year. Plus, I am real curious to see if a 2 door will come out and what it could look like. Might wait to get a hold of one of those. Then again, I love my current IS so much that I may just keep it, pay it off and buy a 07-08 to go with it.

Right now the prospect is a toss-up between the new AWD IS250 and an AWD Subaru Legacy / Outback....one has already demonstrated itself as a superb product and the other one promises to be. The new GS, while also superb, is too expensive, ( though I could have one if I really wanted one).

I thought about a IS350 too but I'm not sure it will be a wise move. Although gas prices seem to be steady for the moment, there is the strong prospect for some SERIOUS increases here in the next couple of years...perhaps to well over $3.00 nationwideand $4 and up in California. Of course, you could buy the 350 and just not drive it as many miles.

I thought you're most interested in the AWD model ?
