That is pretty sweet !! Will have to see that notch in the bumper in person though.
Guess I'll have to wait to make a decision on the next ride.

Actually, that's likely the IS250, as the photo is from this The Car Connection article (as a note, It's really poor form to just post a photo without attribution and it's not fair to the source. Not like it adds much work), and they only reference the new diesel and 250, which will have 204 hp, not the 350.

Next Lexus IS Appears in Geneva
http://www.thecarconnection.com/inde...&sid=173&n=156
Today, Lexus will unveil the next-generation IS sedan, complete with its very first diesel engine. Until now, in Europe's highly competitive business segment a manufacturer has to offer a diesel variant, so the aluminum common-rail 2.2-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel is of great importance for Lexus and its efforts on the Continent. With a power output of 177 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, the Lexus IS diesel will offer the highest performance in its class.
The IS will also be available with a 204-hp V-6 gas engine with direct injection. Both engines will be teamed to a six-speed gearbox, whereas the V-6 will also be offered with a sequential six-speed automatic transmission.
The new Lexus IS is the second model with the so-called L-Finesse design. The car will be equipped with PCS (Pre-Crash Safety System), ACC active cruise control, intelligent active cornering lights, ten airbags including knee airbags, and the Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management stability system. The 2006 IS will hit the markets by the end of this year. -Henny Hemmes

Only 204hp...sigh... I thought Lexus wanted the IS to exceed the 3 in every aspect.
The diesel version on the other hand does look very promising for the European market.

With the IS 250 making "just" 204 HP, I'm slightly worried about the IS 350 really making 315HP. At this point, 280HP would make more sense but I guess we'll see in a few hours.
Maybe the 2nd Gen IS ('09?) refresh will drop the 2.5L and gain the 3.0L (245HP), since that is about when the GS is expected to change to the 3.5L V6. I'm such a greedy HP *****...and thinking way way too far ahead. 225HP in the IS250 would have made it a little more competitive with the new 3 but Lexus was reluctant to play the power game with the new GS and now they seem to have done the same thing with the IS.
Oh well... Power isn't everything.
