P2009 runner gear retainer nut
My 07 IS250 6MT has over 280K miles, and the engine has been running poorly with a few CEL codes. I do not drive my IS250 daily, so have been taking my sweet time before fixing the problems. Over the Memorial Day weekend, I was able to clear one CEL code (P2241) by replacing the Bank 2 Sensor 1 air fuel sensor. Now, the next code that I need to tackle in the future is P2009. I saw this thread (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-solution.html) which is quite helpful, and I suspect that the intake manifold runner gear's retainer nut is loose which is causing the P2009 code.
It is quite annoying that I have to open the upper intake manifold plenum again to access the lower intake manifold runner gear motor since I did the spark plug replacement last year.
For those who have done this fix, do you have any tips to share?
My understanding is that I need to remove the lower intake manifold runner completely to gain access to the motor to fix the loose nut. Do I need any special tools to remove the lower intake manifold? Or is it fairly straightforward to remove the lower intake manifold runner?
