Default Engine code PO174 after adding aftermarket intake

Hey everyone, I recently added a “cold” air intake to my is250, it ran and sound great for a week or two until I got a check engine light, along with a check VSC light. When I went and got it checked they said it was a MAF sensor problem, and I didn’t have any money so I had to drive on it with the engine light for a couple of weeks. During that time it would come on and off, and I didn’t have any noticeable power drops, rough idling or worse fuel economy. When I finally got my new MAF sensor about a week ago the code and light went away, until today where it came back with the same code. Could this be the a vacuum leak, or possibly the oil on the filer dirtying the sensor? I just don’t know, has anyone else had this problem and if so how can I fix it?
thank you!

What code was it?

I would have cleaned the original one instead of a new one. Check the plug on it. Mine threw a code when the plug was loose. I Jerry-rigged the plug, and the code went away. It's been months. 😂
