Default Sensor

2009 Lexus IS250: I am trying to identify, what appears to be, a sensor located on top of the front left fog light.

@bobfix9846 I'm guessing what you're looking at is the ambient temperature sensor. It should appear like this:

It's located behind the front lower grille and snaps in somewhere around the bumper's crash bar, I think. Reference this pic:

Thank you very much TopNotchIN for your reply but what I am referring to is not that; I found the ambient temp sensor and it is located much higher and near the radiator. So far, my best guess is that the connector (by the left fog light) is for the "parking assist system", which is part of the fog light harness but not something that my car has. Regards, Bob

Can you add a picture to your reply showing the component you are talking about?

Protholl, unfortunately, the "sensor/connector" was dangling when I was driving the car and it got ripped off. Thank you!

so was it the ambient temperature sensor as is shown in the picture above?

was it that your outside air temperature was reading very inaccurately?

Yes, I located the ambient temp sensor as shown in the picture; located at the bottom of the radiator near the grill. Also, the outside temperature is still reading accurately. Thank you, Yodog
