Angry HVAC Digitizer Input / Button Lock

I have a 2006 IS250AWD and there was a problem with the Driver side not being heated (in cold weather) while the PASS side was heated. The research showed that the balance wasn't working right and a HVAC reset would fix the issue. I put the HVAC in diagnostic mode with the START + AUTO + RECYCLE button press. During my attempt to reinitialize the HVAC I pressed the DUAL button repeatedly in < 1 sec and the entire digitizer locked up where no button presses would work. I pressed START to stop and restarted finding that all the buttons on the digitizer screen would not work while the MAP was working.

During research I found that there's such a thing as the input being spammed by defect and the HVAC Amplifier that interprets the button pressed can lock the input (Buttons). Turning off the car or removing the BATTERY negative cable for over 8 hours will not reset this display lock (if this is a real thing and not misinformation). Further research says that you need to remove the AMP #10 fuse from the passenger fuse box to reset this lock. Or, completely unconnect the HVAC amplifier and then plug back into the car harness.

I took the car to Lexus Dealer in Bellevue (WA) and they diagnosed this as a defective entertainment unit and want +$5000 to replace it. I'm asking the Lexus community if a digitzer input lock of the buttons is real and it's as easy as removing and resetting a fuse? Anyone actually have this happen or know first hand and not internet misinformation how to fix this issue. I'm sure it was caused by a software issue as it happened when I was in diagostic mode and doing multiple presses of these buttons.

Community thoughts? BTW, I've not removed not reset the fuse or removed the HVAC amplifier as the car is still at the dealer.
