So i think the biggest trigger for this idea is that the head unit or a sub system isn't functioning properly. Sound only plays on 1 side or so it seems; mostly from the left and occasionally from the right. Its bloody annoying. I have to have the volume up to 50 something before it sounds like "normal" volume. i get that "normal" is subjective but i swear i am not going deaf lol. I mean, seeing that max is 63 or something, i really don't think this is normal.
Also that i am after a black interior swap. Eventually. This car has light grey panels. Car came with audio like this. But because i did not test drive the car prior to purchase this did not come to light until after i sgned on the dotted line damn it.
So n my head i am casually hunting for a black Mark Levinson head unit / navi combo. I am not sure what cars these came in. Maybe eventual ML speaker/amp swap as well; they are not expensive. My question is, is an ML head unit / Nav unit a direct swap without the speaker / amp combo?
I have read somewhere here that the MH swap is very complicated; is that true? Google says the MH HU wont work without the amp / speakers. Is that accurate?

Swapping ML head unit for another ML head unit, I believe is "plug and play" however, swapping from ML unit to a non-ML head unit and vice-versa will encounter complications.

Again, your issue is one side of the vehicle has no audio when the AUDIO settings / position are moved (L / R / Front / Rear)? Does the audio change if you toggle the ASL ON and OFF? Have you already checked related fuses?
