Default Walnut Blasting IS250

I am looking to get my 2011 155k mile IS250 walnut blasted to clean the carbon buildup, I was going into it thinking this would be about a $500-$1000 service but after calling around I guess a lot of shops dont have the equipment to do this. called lexus and all they could do was a bgk44 service and then the only shop that said they were able to do it quoted me almost $1,600, is this the going price for this type of service. It seems a little expensive and I dont think I could swing that right now.

im in SoCal and got quoted $869 and three day turnaround from a local shop. It seems fairly reasonable. BUT, i have seen a bunch of videos on YT of DIY and, although it wont be as thorough as a full walnut blasting, it gets most of the carbon off. Also by doing it yourself you can inspect other components and look for preventative measures, but also replace the gaskets of the lower and upper intake manifolds, which i didnt ask if they did or not.
