Hello, I found some clear taillight lenses that I'm planning replace my current lenses with, but I'm wondering if anyone knows whether the bulbs themselves light up red or its the lens that makes them red? If the lights aren't red, are there red bulbs that can replace them?
You don't say year but this is generally what you're dealing with. Non serviceable means LED or put another way (if I'm not mistaken) the LED itself will be white, red or amber. Turn signal I've seen with glass painted amber not sure if they are still available. 168/194 bulb you can buy with red painted glass or go LED.

Sorry, it’s a 2010 2is. That is very helpful though, thanks. I’ll probably end up tearing down a duplicate taillight if I can manage to find one in a scrapyard just to see what I’m dealing with.
For the replaceable bulbs you have options can go LED. That creates its own problems (load resistors, ugh) but still doable. By luck the above diagram is for a 2010.

if i were to guess, i would say the stock LEDs are indeed red behind the factory red lenses! the signal bulb is clear behind the amber (or clear depending on year) lens.
are the clear lenses just the outer layer? sounds like it since you're asking about the LED bulbs on the inner layer. i didn't think they sold just the outer lenses. if it's a full housing replacement (outer and inner clears) then it would be safe to assume the LEDs are red!
