Weird whirrling sound
Hey,
I noticed this whirling sound for a little time now. I wondered if anyone came across this and could explain to me whether this is the idler pulley or water pump or the alternator pulley or the serpentine belt or the sub assy belt that comes in one piece with the adapter? When I purchased the car this sound was not present.

Audio doesn't depict anything outstanding. This is a 250? It sounded like a 350 after startup where it switches from port injection to direct injection during warm up...
Grab some Windex or spray glass cleaner, place the nozzle on stream and spray the belt. If the sound goes away, maybe just a little belt slip. Use a stethoscope or long dowel to suspect areas. Place the other in your ear to pinpoint source .

Currently an aged belt on the Tundra makes extra noise when the humidity hits >95% at startup. That little bit of extra moisture allows the belt to slip and can be pretty loud.
Suggest trying a spray cleaner like Windex and listen for sound change. Often times they go silent for 30sec. Which isolates noise to belt slip vs failed pumps/bearings.
