Default Brightest Headlights

So I don't know if its just me, but my stock headlights suck. I replaced the LED lights that were in the car when I bought it with HID's. Its still not very bright. I've made the proper leveling adjustments, and the lens' are not really foggy.

I'm looking to replace them, but don't know what to get. Light output is my top priority. Cosmetics are secondary.

Just wondering who out there has went aftermarket, and what kind of light output change did you experience, good or bad?

Thanks in advance.

The low beams on these cars are not the best because the bulb goes into the projector from the side instead of straight from the back due to a lack of space behind the headlights. Also, the 2IS does not come with LEDs from the factory, previous owner likely swapped them. What bulbs did you put in, H11 HIDs? If so, the car came with halogens from the factory. D4S? You have factory HIDs.

HIDs were not designed for the halogen projector, and LEDs definitely weren't. "Brighter" isn't necessarily better, especially if you're using a bulb the headlight wasn't designed for. Yeah, it looks brighter in front of you because the projector bowl can't properly distribute the light. It's the same old tired argument people try to make when they slap lights into their cars that weren't designed for that type of light. All that bright light in front of you makes it hard to see down the road. It also blinds your fellow drivers, no matter what anyone says, because these projectors were not designed around that bulb filament type (halogen, hid, or led).

Generally, the aftermarket headlight assemblies that you see going around here (such as the triple beam LED) are nothing to write home about either. They all either have terrible output, or they throw light all over the place blinding other people on the road. If you want a few options you can try.... If your car had halogens from the factory, put halogens back in there, or you can try a factory HID swap but there's a bit more work involved (wiring harness, sensors, etc). Another alternative, but pricey, would be a retrofit from a place like Lightwerkz, but this would give you the best light output.

None of this is true I've upgraded dozens of cars to LED with good results. You're stuck in the past when LED bulbs were terrible.

So what you're saying is no matter what my useable light output is just going to suck? If that's the case, then what is the best case scenario for these cars?

Just out of curiosity, what LED bulbs do you run?
