Default TPMS in Spare?

Have the TPMS light on so took to Mavis (only place open). Two of the sensors are dead so replaced. Tech says he can't get dash light off because spare needs to have a sensor (the spare in the car isn't the correct one and he said a sensor won't fit). He says his machine needs a spare that goes to 60psi?

From what I've read here the spare doesn't have a sensor? Not sure how to tell the tech to proceed.

2010 IS250 AWD.

The original spare tire does not have a sensor. Don't know what to tell you about Mavis, other than to ask whether a more experienced tech can take a look at it.

Usually when you get a new set of TPMS it wipes primary, and secondary set stored. Try cycling to "Main" set again the light should go off. If that doesn't work then take the car to Discount tire. They usually check for free TPMS.

Thanks. I called Mavis back and told them no sensor so hopefully they give to another tech.

The system probably locked him out and he doesn’t know how to unlock the ECU.

They called back late yesterday and apparently the system was in main setting and he was in the backup wheels. I guess it has settings for primary and secondary wheels.
