Default Assistance, grinding noise front tire drivers side

A couple of days ago, I started to hear a metal grinding in the front tire drivers side. I had the the car aligned around a year ago. I also had new pads & new front rotors around 1 1/2 year ago . I have not done the back brakes/rotors, yet. I have been researching online & possibly could be the brake brackets that got loose or a wheel bearing. I did check myself looked underneath the car (without jacking the car up) & I did not see anything unusual. I will have to take it to a friend that is an old school mechanic to look at it. I do not want to take it to the dealership to pay a high price. Any reccomendations out there? Samiliar experiences like this? Thanks in advance, either way.

i have the same problem on my lexus but in the rears. I have not got a chance to fix it but believe it may be a stuck or seized caliper. calipers and/or rebuild kits are relatively inexpensive
