Default CEL code clearing

Hi guys, my wife brought her car from Texas to CA and her registration is up soon, so we have to get it smog tested. Her CEL has been on for a while and i just got into messing with cars so i'm going to try to see what I can do myself. I got a VEEPEAK OBD2 adapter and read the codes it was throwing, but haven't cleared them.
Do i need to reset the CEL codes and see what shows up to get an accurate/recent reading?

2003 IS300, ~125k miles

Keep record of what it showed you the first time!

Awesome, I’ll give it a shot. And I do have them stored. Thank you!
