Default Fuel gauge not working

Hi all, last night I replaced the rear brakes on my car and after I was finished I went to drive my car and a few weird things happened. I went to start my car and the lights came on but then I lost all power. After a bit it came back. I popped the hood and noticed the Terminals were a bit loose do I snugged them up and all was good. Went to start the car and I realized that the fuel gauge is bottomed out and the indicator light is on.

My initial thought was that maybe since I had just below 1/4 tank and then jacked up the rear, the flat got stuck at the bottom? Seems strange that it all happened at once though. I'm sure the pump runs to the ecu and into the cluster but I only mess with that stuff if I have to. Does anyone have an idea if something could have went wrong with the electronics side instead of the float sticking? The more I think about it the less I think it's the float. It's not like it was jacked up a lot or it was the first time it has been jacked up with low gas. Idk. Any advice is appreciated!

Also trying to figure out if this passes inspection? Ive read that getting to the pump through the tank isn't a fun job so might just let it for if it weren't to be electrical
