Newbie from SoCal (LBC!)
I thought it was about time I joined a forum since it's been about 8 months since I got my IS300.
I was fortunate enough to buy a 2002 Lexus IS300 GGP 5SPD w/ LSD with about 175k miles. It now has about 185k and still runs well.
My previous car was my first love... it was a 2001 Honda Prelude Championship White 5SPD BB6 with full JDM Type S interior and basic bolt-ons... Man I miss that beautiful slow car.
I also have a 2008 Kawasaki ZZR600. It's a cool bike, but I prefer my old 2003 Honda CBR600RR. Possibly looking into either a BMW S1000RR, Yamaha R1 or Ducati Sport Classic Biposto for my next two-wheeler purchase.
Just a bit about the car:
-Everything is stock except for a lowering kit... I think they're Koni Yellows and some springs.. planning on getting coilovers eventually (Function and Form or similar)
-Recently installed a little JDM flare with the Altezza grill+badge and Altezza rear badge.
-I plan on doing more research on these, but the car makes a flowing/bubbling liquid sound when started...
-Needs a new O2 sensor (CEL on)...
-And eventually planning on upgrading my clutch/flywheel to something lighter
-Not really planning on any bolt-ons that will make the car louder in any sense. IMO it already sounds beastly and very fun to drive.
Anyway, not really in it to get all import tuner with the car, but I'm glad to join a community of fellow IS300 / Altezza enthusiasts!
Here's a couple of photos from yesterday after a 5 hour clay bar / wax buff job. It shines!
