Default Oil control valve filter screen

Just wondering how deep into the engine I would need to go to change the ocv filter screen

You don't have to go deep at all. It's right on the front/top of the engine, beside the VVT gear. Remove the union bolt and the filter. Be careful when removing the bolt to not drop the gaskets from each side of the oil pipe.

Anyone have pics of where exactly this filter is? Is it behind that large bolt that runs horizontal? I'm surprised there's not more posts on here, the engine light goes on about once a year for me and it's always this valve. Had enough of dishing out money for this, want to learn how to clean the filter or replace the valve if needed. Thanks
