"as far as efficieny goes yes the TORSEN is a much better LSD and works well and does not have to be rebuilt like a Clutch type Does.. also there is very lil tinkering with it.. unlike settin up the clutches on the TRD... butit was not built to hold retarded amounts of HP. but again why would it, the Stock IS comes with very lil HP. and the idea of ppl makin 600 -800rwhp on this car prolly was not floating around in the designers heads when they created this part.,hence the materials used may not be strong enough to hold it."

Correct. And the torsen should hold probably under 400HP, but that is pushing it. Don't quote me on the HP, but I've seen auto supra with torsen LSD and upgrade HP running with stock LSD w/o any problem.

"Knock on Wood", I have over 450whp and my stock Torsen LSD is working just fine . I hope it stays that way, and I believe it will. Positive thinking.

isman, I hope it holds for you too, but IMO there is no chance it will hold. Fairuza already blew his apart with similar horsepower numbers. I am with you though, I hope it holds too. Its funny, the hard part about going for the real big hp is that you must have a cash backup just in case parts fail. If things break, it is normally not cheap when you are making 400+ rwhp.

Well, tks for the concern. I'm hoping that it will hold also. In retrospect, Freelance was also making similar whp and his tranny & Torsen was holding up quite well, so, I'm hoping for the same. In terms of funding for all this hp, yeah, you're right about the necessity of $$ to keep going. I look at it this way, it sucks when it breaks, but the fun part about it is to fix it and make it better. I'm going for over 500whp numbers for next week . Gettin a little twick work done

it might hold but over 500rwhp I dont think it will hold for too long... I have 2 rears now.. one in the car and one I am messing around with... that is something I learned the hard way on.. I would get a 2nd just in case...and at least if you break it you have something to throw in until you get yourself a TRD LSD
