Hey Guys, I currently live in Japan, been living here for the past 2.5 years and overall 8 years on and off for the past 11 years. I've owened several lexus's and toyota equivalent here in Japan, but never an IS. I'm due to come back to the US within the next 4 months or so and would like to buy a 1st Gen IS300.

Since I'm in Japan I wanted to know which cool parts I could possibly get over here for the IS. I can search the auctions all day, but probably won't know if certain parts are rare or not for the IS. I know about the LS, SC and GS series, but not the IS. Any help would be appreciated.

I almost bought a BEAMS engine for my AE86, but voted againsted since I had to do fab work to the tranny tunnel, but now that I'm considering an IS, maybe it would be a good idea to get one, no?

Theres alot that you should pick up over there if your looking for rareity.


Body parts (Could need fabrication)
Gauge clusters
Headlights
Prob pick up some nice wheels cheaper over there since there are some big brand name companies there. (possibly)
Altezza things if your into that

Some Endless or Project Mu brakes would be pretty badass to have. Also discontinued bodykits that you might be able to find used.

I already got an Altezza grille and been thinking about some stock altezza wheels, but probably want to go with some better wheels. Will definetely look into getting a cluster and some other goodies, I'd like to go JDM for sure. Thanks for the info guys...
