IS300 ballast

Hello, I'm new to this forum. Does anyone know how to change out the ballasts for a 2001 IS300. I was also thinking of putting a new slim hid kit in to replace factoy ballasts. Is this a good idea?

I'm doing thw same this week cause one ballast went out and I'm not paying for a new Lexus ballast. Seems pretty straight forward. Ballast is under headlight
