Hey guys my brother has a IS300 with the factory HID's. He's having an issue with one of the headlights, it turns on and then goes out. He has to turn the lights back off and on to get it to work and then it just goes out again.

What does it need, the whole headlight, ignitor, bulb? Help me out. Thanks

 

i probably would try replacing the bulb first. sound like mine last year.

I have been dealing with HIDs for the past 10 years. The first thing i would check not buy. To see if you know any one with an aftermarket kit to see of the balast is bad. Thats the only thing that goes out on the ones i have been using. Theres no use to throw parts at it if you cant detect the exact problem........Waste alot of money that way. Take the bulb out and put a led or bright light directly up to the bulb it will be a lil hazey or burnt looking in the center of the bulb where it looks like there a lil ball in the middle of the bulb. That is normal if its black or you can see debris inside its probably blown. G.L

 

like jim said, start with the bulb, if that doesnt fix it you can always get a cheapy ebay kit( ballast etc)

 

I have a feeling it's the ballast..had to do that w mine a year ago
