You got a lot of reading to do but here's a good place to start.

Look at Foober's link.

IMO a 70mm turbo is too big unless your looking for huge numbers. A GT35R, Precision 6262, or BW S360 should be big enough for most...

clubna-t.com PM markIV. He'll get you a good deal on a starter kit (manifold, intercooler, downpipe, oil lines and fittings). You'll have to drill and tap your oil pan for oil drain. After that, engine management - I suggest TokenSolutions plug n play GReddy EMU package. 400cc injectors, unless you plan to see over 400hp (though you will need transmission work if you want to retain that much power for a long period of time). My.IS has far more information for boosting your IS300. Search around there for specific information...I myself have a build thread on that forum that many people have referenced for their turbo builds, it's filled with a lot of pictures and info. Good luck

just sell that turbo and do a GTE swap, get the valve body upgrade for your auto tranny and enjoy the power of the stock twins until you want more.

swapping is just cheaper and easier than build.

I think you're leaving out a lot of stuff here. You need a lot of the same parts for GTE swap. You forgot about the intercooler, exhaust, fuel, gauges, etc. Also, it takes some work to get the stock twins to fit.

that is debatable I think, it has the potential to be both if you do it properly, though turboing can be as well if you get the right kit..... like the boostlogic kit for ~ $5750 that comes with pretty much everything needed for near bolt on (granted you do the head gasket and plumb the return fuel line and do the piggy back/standalone)

but for higher potential you need to do more work to the head, maybe low comp pistons, ect.

swap already has nearly everything in motor aspect. pick one up for ~ $2750, get an ebay intercooler and piping kit, and take care of the fuel pump and return line and youre set.
the headache in it is doing wiring, you can use the stock Aristo ecu, but gotta mess with the wiring a bit to use your stock tranny (BUT IT IS POSSIBLE AND THERE ARE THREADS ON THIS)

each has the potential to be easy and each has the potential to turn your car into a 3000lb paper weight. just depends on how savy you are with a wrench i guess.
