Vinyl Wraps .. Yay or Nay??
I'm thinking of getting my roof vinyl wrapped ... is this a good idea or no also has anyone done it? If I want to remove it will my roof look ugly after its removed? Does a vinyl wrap on the car mess up with heat weather etc..
Any feedback is appriciated thanks...

I was thinking about doing this same mod, The only problem is the rust. Sometimes under the wrap you can get rust spots so you need to make sure you dont have any scratches or paint niks before they add you vinyl and you should be good. It should also come off pretty clean depending on your roofs previous condition

Vinyls wraps can def improve the look of your car. Only problems are they do scratch very easy, especially if you have to scrub it (like to get off bird droppings). Plus I feel like people will be more inclinded to key your car. My friends vinyl got keyed just recently. Overall I would do it, I would love to see this done to an IS300.

Ive seen it done and looks good when done. but question is how it would hold up to normal everyday stuff like rocks and droppings and sun beating down on it constantly. I would guess its not a long term mod, but if just doing the roof, its cheap enough to try it and see.

3 yrs is short term to me when you consider what paint can do. Now in texas summer heats and possible sand hitting it when sand kicks up in winds, I would bet on 1-2 yrs being optimistic

It all depends on the brand of vinyl you will be using, the shop doing the install should avoid the use of primer which usually will result in eating away your clear coat in the long run. I have several vinyl pieces done on my car and it held up pretty well. In the end, all vinyl will scratch but it does protect you from rock chips.
