Question prices

Greetings all,

I'm a new member here, but I remember seeing a thread on this forum several weeks ago (as a visitor) regarding prices that were paid on '02 IS300's. Is about $3000 below MSRP a good starting point, or should I not expect a dealer to allow any more off? I've actually got an Infiniti G35 coupe on order, but I'm getting damn tired of waiting for its release (early-November) and continuing to have to drive my cumbersome 4x4 Tundra on the freeway each day. I need a nice, agile sports sedan/coupe now!!!

But yeah, please give me an idea of what I can expect to pay if I go Lexus shopping soon. Local dealers are advertising 3.15% finance rates for 60 months, so that's almost too good to pass up...

Thanks for any help!

I purchased my IS 300 at 3,306 below MSRP in late July 2002. The car was equipped as follows:

-Five Speed Transmission
-Torsen Limited slip differential
-Leather
-Color-Absolutely Red
-Cargo net
-Standard 17-Inch Wheels
-Traction Control
-Moon Roof w/ Sun Shade
-Dual Power Seats
-Home link

I paid cash for the car with no trade or financing; consequently, I am not sure if my results are indicative of a financed purchase with a trade in.

Thanks for the input, Grogers. Sounds like I can expect to get less off list price if Lex/Toyota finance division gives me such a low rate (3.15%).

The car I'm looking for will be a 5-speed manual with Nav. I did an online enquiry around the Atlanta area recently for a car so equipped, but was told by one dealer that I cannot get a manual tranny with Nav on 2002 models. That's BS, because the '02 brochure I've got shows this combination in print. Correct?

Anyway, if anyone knows the whereabouts of a 5-spd model with a Nav system around the Southeast, please let me know. I might try to contact the dealer who has it.

Thanks again, ya'll.

A couple of weeks ago I was at the Lexus dealership in Tampa Florida. During that visit I thought I saw a 5sp with NAV and Chrome wheels (please note that I looked in quite a few vehicles so I may be incorrect). The contact number the dealership is 813-888-8221 or you can email ringstaffr@autonation.com to follow up.

tim935, I found some combos difficult to find just because the way Lexus is making them. For example, I wanted the auto with full leather, but every car I could find with auto and leather came with the navigation, which I really didn't want. I could have ordered one that way and waited for it but I ended up getting the auto, leather, and navigation (happy I did). So when they say you can't get it that way, maybe they just can't find one that way? Some dealers don't want to go thru the trouble of seaches and orders if they can sell one off the lot.
