So im going to the dealer today...
I am planning on trading my '07 MRM IS350 with 51k on the odo, for a '04 IBP IS300 sedan. i kinda has a base to start with on the negos. but any help would be great full
My car is worth according to KBB
Trade in: 22,500.
Private Party: 24,250.
Retail: 28,160.
2004 IBP IS300
Trade in: 9,625.
Private Party:11,700
Retail:14,950
they are asking 14,888 at the momment before actually talking, i know im going to an older car. the fact is im only 19 and im over having this nice of car. payments arent bad, insurance is steep. but im paranoid every time i walk away from my car. I absolutly hate is. Im afraid of everyone else on the road. Ive been the passenger of quite a few accidents, including one rollover. so this car just makes me more nervous before i would kill the dude that hit my newer IS350. I have always loved the IS300 body. i love the 2JZ motor. and I really like IBP!
what should i tell them as far as what they should give me, and what price for theirs. any feedback would be great

If trading in is your thing, you should look into carmax. They will give you cash. Honestly I've never hear of a dealer give out cash on a "trade down."
Personally I would try and sell it on craigslist, You'll get a few grand more than trading in.
Plus if you are negotiating with cash on a used car, chances are you'll get a lot better deal.
Good luck.

haha i know it is, but im 19 and only drive a mile to work and a mile back, and dont go to very many places. i dont feel like paying another 17k on a car i cant do much to, id rather trade mine in, get a less expensive car, and be able to do the things i want. plus i fell in love with the is300 since the day it came out.
Sceptre- Good friends with the GM, the dealer has also sent the cars that are damaged to the body shop my dad works at. he has known them all for 20 years, and i also helped out with some detail work on the weekends, so they are gunna try and help me out. hopefully everything goes smoothly

yo mv350. i also suggest to try n sell it to a private party. but if u are desperate, take it to carmax. that is last resort option though. They make reasonable offers. Good luck with everything and make sure to post pics when u get yur new is300.
