expect to have your license suspended if the cop also booked you with reckless driving as well, as it adds on to your decision to race going 135mph

Whats wrong with you guys? Why is everyone being so unsupportive? The kid made a mistake.. he slipped.. give him a break. He got what he deserved, but for everyone to sit here and pray that his license gets suspended is stupid. He's losing his car already.. sheesh.

Instead of having us guess at what's going to happen to you on 8/19, tell us what the tickets were for that were WRITTEN.

And you weren't arrested, you were detained, big difference. When you get booked (fingerprinted, photographed, etc), you'll really know what being arrested feels like.

Hopefully you are taking some sort of Driver's Ed course before your court date to try to help your cause.

Sorry you had to learn the hard way that street racing is not a good idea. What if the cop prints out this thread, and uses it as evidence.

Cop: "Your honor, I wasn't able to get a radar reading on the cars in question, but the defendant has admitted to doing XXX mph while street racing. Here is a printout of his admission of guilt."

Hopefully you've learned your lesson, and won't have to go through this again. Any word on how long you have to be PublicTransportationJosh? Good luck with your parents and everything else.

Dude,

I asked him what tickets he was written so that we can give him a better understanding of what he may be facing on 8/19

telling him that he didn't get arrested so it's not as bad as what he thought

giving him a tip that might go in his favor at traffic court.

Relax....

Wow, very interesting comments left on this post. I'm surprised as well, reading so many negative comments. I am sure he has been chewed out enough from his parents. I don't think he needs to hear this all again. But people can say whatever they want right.....oh well.

Anyways, VIPJOSH.....wish you all the best. Hopefully you have learned from this and will be motivated to let your peers/friends know about the consequences this has on life....Hope all is well. Good luck!

You've been lucky so far. I don't have any sympathy for those who race on the streets as there are too many horror stories that are much worse than loosing a car and even some jail time. Learn from this....

They only crush the cars if you have modification that you can't prove you paid for. Basically if they suspect something on your car was stolen and you can't prove otherwise they'll crush it.

From what he said it sounds like he just got a speeding ticket for 100 mph + and was detained because he was under 18. If you get a speed contest ticket (street racing). You'll get your car impounded for 30 days regardless of who owns the car or your record.
