Default Question on Radio buttons

Ok guys,

On the stock radio unit, I have no idea what some of the buttons do. If you do know what it means, please explain to me on how to AND when to use it. Thanks!

1. RDS: I think this is to search for the strongest radio signals and plays it...ive noticed that it has its own setting in additional to the FM1 and FM2

2. What is TYPE?

3. What is TRAF? - Traffic? It doesnt do anything when I press it.

4. What is the MSG button? what does it do..this is located next to the cassette.

Thanks!

hit MSG that will bring back any transmitted txt information.

RDS on my previous alpine deck was a feature that auto programmed the strongest stations to your preset buttons. why do this? because sometimes when driving long distances you get tired of hitting seek all the time? i dunno
