the common problem is the oxigen sensors, that happen with mine ,maybe thats will be your problem, check wiht the scanner to be shure

most common may be the oxygen sensors, or the fuel cap left open. Try disconnecting your battery for 10 mins then put it back on. If the ses light comes back go to an autoparts store to get your codes read and post the codes

to reset your ecu
pull out the ecu fuse along with another one. can't remember off the top of my head

Get the code read with an obdII scanner or whatever it's called. That will tell you what is wrong.

On my '02 it was an oxygen sensor..

My CEL is still on after 6 months. No problems, but found out it was my o2(oh-2) sensor. So I figured its not a big issue, but your MPG goes down a little.
If its the pre catalytic converter sensors, you dont have to worry about the light.
If its the post catalytic converter sensors, you CEL would be on and your TRAC OFF will be flashing. That means either your o2 sensor or catalytic converter is bad.

Our cars have 4 o2 sensors. Look under the hood and below the intake pipe, you will see your headers. On the headers, you will see a gadget with wires. That is an o2 sensor. Then further down the exhaust, you will see a big canister. That is your catalytic converter.

To find out what the problem is, just go to a near by auto parts store and ask them to read your car. Its an OBD-II(OBD-2) ECU reader.

Then have them right/type/print the codes. Then come back and post them up. We can direct you in the right direction. And its free help, so you can use the money to buy the $150+ part you will need

EDIT: I almost forgot :egads:

To reset your ECU, just unplug the negative(black) cable from the battery for 15 mins. Then plug it back in. Start the car, BAM!!! your CEL light is gone. Wait about 5 mins or so. If the light doesnt come back on, then it was a warning. But dont let that fool you, it will come back on eventually.

Hey Guys !

The code was p0172

Did someone know something about this code?

I<3myIS300 01-26-09 12:27 PM

this is wat i found P0172
System Too Rich (Fuel Trim)

I<3myIS300 01-26-09 12:29 PM

* The MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor is dirty or faulty. Note: The use of "oiled" air filters
can cause the MAF to become dirty if the filter is over-oiled. There is also an issue with some vehicles where the MAF sensors leak the silicone potting material used to protect the circuitry.
* There could be a vacuum leak
.
* There could be a fuel pressure or delivery problem

Or a possible probelm with an oxygen sensor are my guesses here

Thanks!!!!!!!

Wrong section. You want the ES330 section for this answer...
