Post new cd unit

My 6 disc cd player jammed and don't know if I want to put the $800 dollars in to just get a stocked 6 disc cd player from lexus. Does anyone have any good suggestions on other units...cd player or GPS system, that I could get for around the same cost...I heard pioneers were good. I want the unit to look nice in the IS300 and not tacky....thanks

I'm sporting a Panasonic CQ-VD6503U double din deck and its a pretty good deck I would have to say. Unfortunately, no NAVI yet but if one comes out, I will try to get one. I havent tried ipod integration on it yet but I plan to get it and a cd changer probably. These decks retail about $899 I believe.

If you want to pay the extra cash (for dvd/navi decks), Pioneer has a few decks w/ navi (Z, D, or N series). Kenwood has a few decks as well (ddx6019/ddx7017/ddx8017) but I think you have to purchase a navi module seperate. Alpine has a few as well. The more expensive Eclipse series comes with pretty much all the goodies. If you want a nice looking deck in your car that isnt really tacky, I would suggest a double-din deck.

If you want the interface of the OEM Lexus/Toyota NAV, go with the Eclipse AVN series of double din units. Fujitsu-Ten who manufactures the radio and NAV for Toyota & Lexus is known for high quality products. The older AVN 5435 and even 2545 can be had for less than $1k at certain retailers. You just have to shop for the best deal.
