No, guys.....don't think so. The first Bangle car released publically, I believe, was the Z4, then the new 7-series, then the X3, then the new 5-series. The new 3-series, including the 330i, won't be out until at least next spring.

There may be some hope even for Bangle. If any of you have seen the upcoming 1-series (his latest design), it looks like his best effort yet. It doesn't even have the I-Drive on its base model.

Anyhow, back to the IS300...the thread topic. One area where the IS300 soundly beats ALL of the competition, with the possible exception of the Infiniti G35, is in reliability......a very important area for a lot of people. Only the Infiniti is anywhere even near the IS300's league here. Even the Acura TL lately has become questionable in some areas......primarily transmission-related.

I've owned 14 vehicles in 8 years, the IS is the only one I could never part with.

Just wait until the genII IS comes out. The BMW will get owned in value, handling and performance. Will definately get owned in looks since BMW is changing the look of the 3-Series to make it look like there other models looks.

umm i am just curious, how can you be so sure about handling and performance? people couldn't believe the capability of the e60 until it came out, and then magazines they are all surprised by what the m5 can do

read, not that i am ditching lexus, but imho if lexus can improve, so can bimmer. and to be honest, while i think toyota has the ability, bimmer still has the best driver feel so far

You sound rather skeptical there, Romi.

I have the good feeling that Lexus is gonna step up on the IS.

However, the proof is in the pudding. We shall see...

The reason I said what I said in my previous post was because the IS is already beating the 3-series overall when it comes to value. The IS was already pretty damn close to the 3-series in handling and performance. Toyota already know sthat those two catagories are what basically already set the 2 cars apart. It would make sence for them to improve upon those 2 things and still keep it priced under the 3-series. My opinions are only on the base models and not the performance models ie M series.

The IS beats the 3-series NOW in many ways...particularly in quality, noise level, refinement, reliability, warranty coverage, and the average customer service of Lexus vs. BMW dealers.
The only real difference is the 3-series's M cars.
