It tells us you're going to have some high-mileage depreciation on it. But hey...if you enjoy driving it....and the IS is a great car.....I sure enjoy driving mine.........what the heck? It's only money.

You guys are nuts im like nervous because i've put 900 miles in like two weeks. But i have taken a road trip to gainsville and of course you are going to be more ready to drive when you just got the car. I would like to keep it to 12,000 miles a year if possible it will probably end up at like 15 though.

I averaged about 40K miles a year.
If you all are that concerned about driving a lot of miles and saving gas, then try bumping the tire pressure up a little...no more than 2 lbs....to 35 PSI; keep the transmission switch in the NORMAL mode, not the POWER mode; use the A/C compressor as little as possible, try to combine trips so that the engine stays hot and you are not warming it up constantly (which uses a lot of gas) , clean all the unnecessary stuff out of the trunk so you're not dragging extra weight around, and of course, use the old-fashioned methods.....easy on both the gas and the brake pedal. The ride will be a little stiffer, you may not have as much driving fun, but this should be good for about 3-4 extra miles per gallon.....EXPENSIVE gallons out there in CA, from what we're seeing back East here.
In the D.C. area here unleaded 93 octane premium is going for $1.85 to $2.00 a gallon depending on the station. Out there in CA we see signs on the news here showing $2.30-$2.40.
