why some lexus models Gs450h have different gearbox style?

When the GS was launched in 2012, the GS450h had the non-boot gear selector and the GS350 and GS250 had the boot. Then over the years, the GS450h changed to the boot style as well. The chrome style of GS450h was a style choice over the "lower" end GS350 during launch.



Functionally, its not that practical as you can loose small coins and stuff in there.

...and is a glossy scratch magnet. Kinda takes away some of the advantages of the matte bamboo trim.

For me is ultra retro vintage look, i already have 30-40 years old car i am looking for something newer , i use american chemicals to clean the car ,this vintage gear lever **** is much harder to clean specially when you put gears in different place its full of dirt and dust...
