Hello all Lexus owners,

sorry for any doubts, but english is not my first language. Currently i own RX 450H '16 with 90.000 km (aprox 56.000 miles), its after big 90k service including spark plugs replacement. I notice that when engine is switching on and off, it make nudge for all car body, i can feel it on steering wheel, seat, even sometimes when i stand in traffic and switch to P but car is on and need to power, some plastics around gear shift crack a little. To be honest its not tragedy but for me its very noticeable and makes me nervous especially in traffic when it on and off all the time.

Lexus service station said they didnt found any issue. I didnt drove any other RX450H to compare but had experience in hybrids in 2nd gen Prius, GS450H 2006 and dozens of Auris/Corolla as Uber passenger and they all worked that i didnt notice any like this. 2 month ago i drove C-HR 2.0 hybrid and it was first time i really didnt know when ICE was launching... totally silk.

My idea is to check engine cushion but maybe there is some other things to check in your experience.

Sorry, didt make myself clear. I bought this car aprox one year ago when it was 75.000 km now it is more than 90.000 and i think at beginning it was not so rough.

BTW i bought it with one year warranty for used cars directly from Toyota / Lexus point, by now it had a complete transmission replaced because it whistle and brake pump replace because it made some strange crack noises.

 

Sorry for your troubles. Under normal conditions, I do not know when the ICE is on or off. I guess if I really pay attention sometimes I can feel I turning on from a stop. Maybe you are correct about motor mounts. I think you should not be able to notice any vibration or noise when the ICE is turning on.

 

There is a thread somewhere that refers to the exhaust pipe being loose and causing vibration at slow speeds. That also could be your issue

 

My ‘17 exhibits the same, and has been that way since day one. Dealership couldn’t find anything wrong, says it’s normal. To me, it reminds me of a car with the start/stop function.
