What does the Total Average 2.6 mean? I mean...it can't possibly mean that I'm getting 2.6 miles/kWh? That makes no sense.

 

2.6 miles * 18.1 kWh = 41.63 miles

But you never use up the 18.1kWh

18.1kWh * 70% for EV = 12.67 kWh for EV range * 2.6 = 33 miles of EV range

The Average Total Fuel Economy is very misleading because it depends on how often you charge and how often you use EV. I've been using EV most of the time and I rarely use HV (only once every two weeks just to make sure), and as a result, my average total fuel economy is 99.9MPG. To me it's a useless number.

I totally agree about LSFT’s videos, they are excellent…some not appropriate for my 350 F Sport but so many of his videos are most appropriate for my needs.

 

Maybe functionally useless, but doesn't it make you feel good?

 

Yeah, I wish the fuel economy was just for the gas engine and then you could do the math at each fill up relative to the trip odometer to figure out the actual mpg with the charging figured in.
