Will a Techstream point me to a failed EVAP system component?
I have P0441 and P1421 codes. I've done a bit of preliminary diagnostics, gas cap and tested for vacuum retention in the system. Both seem good. Wondering if the Techstream would point me to what actual component needs replacing. I will need to purchase a windows computer in order to use the Techstream, (now using a Chromebook) so hoping to determine if it will help me determine the actual problem, before purchasing both the Techstream and a computer.

If you know how to interpret the pressure readings and what happens when, then yes the Techstream will be beneficial. First off, i'd suggest going to the engine bay side and inspecting the purge line hoses for cracks, splits, etc. Those hoses can get very brittle over time, and if the intake has been off recently, can cause those things to split.
Techstream is tool and it can enable you to find your problem. It certainly does not tell you what to replace for sure to fix your problem. The problem can be a bad valve and it can be due to plumbing (rubber hoses + clamps). With tech stream, you can issue commands to activate the valves, but the diagnosis will require understanding of the plumbing and the use of vacuum pump/gauge or a smoke detector. Tecstream + Repair manual + basic know how can steer you to a finding a bad part.
OBDII scanner only points to a problem in system/sub-sytem but nothing beyond that.
