For Christmas have someone give you a tiny little lithium car-starter. The size of a paperback book, these things are amazing how they can start a conventional car by having the ability to deliver a tremendous current for a short time. For a hybrid, all they need to do is jumper the 12v battery via the terminal under the hood and very little power is needed, since the ICE is computer-controlled and is actually started by the giant 300v traction battery under the rear seat.

You can toss your jumper cables once you carry one of thee things!

 

Had no idea Lexus downgraded to a metal rod instead of hood struts on the UX, what a shame.
