Hi, my lexus rx450h amp was broken, is it possible to install an aftermarket amp?

 

This can be done with a wiring harness from PAC. It bypasses the OEM amplifier. Any car audio shop can do this. It's been a 1000 times.. I bypassed my amp on my Lexus NX with a wire harness which bypasses the factory amplifier. Now I'm using two 6to8 aerospace DSP's to that run to the a HELIX M six that powers active focal es 165 KX3 3-way's and a helix M four to power the rear focal es 165 KX2 2-ways. I have a helix U8 active amplifier under the passenger seat.

 

If i change to aftermarket amp, do i have to change the multimedia player head unit also? Cause i ask a shop they said have to change both. Is it true?

 

No. They don't know what they're talking about. Just Google "bypass Lexus amplifier". This is nothing new
