When I look for a replacement battery for my 08 GSh, I see that the 2007-08 has a different battery than the 2009-11.

Anyone know what was different?

 

Certainly not the battery modules - same amount (40) of 6-cell module dimensions since the 1st gen Prius.

 

Didn't the 2009-11 GS450h have larger boot space than the 2007-08 ones? Maybe the later pack has different dimensions to the earlier ones.

 

Ye it has, but because of a redesign of battery placement little more into the trunk.

As far I know, the 09 - 11 battery is same, but a software is little tweaked, to imrove life cycle of batteries. Thats why a 09+ models are 0.1 sec slower than previous ones (based on catalogue info).

 

Talked to the guy from Greenbean, he said the mounting is different. Pretty much the same electrically, you can make a 2009-2011 work in a 2007-2008.

Was wondering if they could have pushed it back into the car more to help with some trunk space.
