Hey all. Although is usual for the hybrid to make some noises after shutting off, I’m getting a weird one on my 2013. Intermittently I’ll hear what sounds like a chair dragging across the ground for a brief second. When inside the car, I can feel vibrations from behind the pedal area. I’m sure it’s part of a regular shutdown sequence but it sounds like maybe something might need some lube. Tried to catch it on audio but it’s somewhat random and occurs up to a couple of minutes after. Car has just under 90k miles. Thanks!

 

Not sure it the same as yours but I hear and have always heard at times after turning off my 2013 a sound that no other car I have had makes. Almost sounds like a rubber door closing that needs oiling.

 

Just read about other Toyota/lexus hybrids having problems with brake actuators and/or needing the brakes bled that make a sound like a seal barking. Does anyone know where the brake actuator is located at on the es hybrid? I’m hearing the noise from under the driver’s pedals.

I do not think that link is related if you look at the 1st post. I also believe the sound is normal. I have had a 2010 HS250h and now the 2013 ES300h. Both have made this sound after parking the vehicle.
