Has anyone replaced front shocks yet? How many miles did you have on the odo? Why did you do it? Was it maintenance or was there an issue?

 

Replaced at about 180k km. Front left was blown. Now approaching 250k km.

 

How much did it cost? At the dealer or at an indy shop?

 

Stretching my memory....I think I paid 400 CDN cash at mechanic operating out of a barn. I went to do the rear and busted 3 of 4 bolts in my garage ( we got salty winters here). So a neighbor directed me to this mechanic...he was nice...I had all the parts and I participated. I bought all KYB online mailed to my house. Sorry ....this may not be helpful.

 

I replaced mine with Monroe Quick Strut at around 90K miles on 2012 HiHy. Those are identical to RX ones. neither Monroe nor KYB (OEM) differentiate between RX and HiHy struts wise. That's if you were referring to the front struts. Not rear shocks. Term used interchangably by most, I am no help with rear.
I paid around $170 a pop. 20 min per side job.

 

Ah, yes, you say front. Those are McPherson struts. You have shocks in the rear. yes, Monroe Quick Strut of KYB Complete strut. Just look up Highlander ones. I emailed manufacturers before I bought them.
