Default LS600hL

Can anyone tell me what a “hybrid vehicle control computer, part number 89981-50015” for a 2008 LS600hL does?

I’m having some issues with the vehicle not starting or dies at random and the dealer is suggesting replacing this item.

The vehicle has a new battery and new push button starting assembly.

Thoughts??

I've never heard of a failure of that item. I suppose it's simply the computer control (the brains) behind the Hybrid propulsion systems. I see it's a $750 part. Ouch! Must not be very prone to failure or someone would have complained about it before on the forum.

Sort of seems like your Lexus dealer is semi-randomly replacing parts to figure out whatever problem you are having with your LS600hL.

Good luck!

new 12v battery? I have had starting issues related to a dead 12v starting battery causing me to be unable to start the car, which I was able to recharge and get back to normal operations.
