I have seen this ONLY on engines that had maintenance completely neglected.
Like running on same oil for 60 000 mile, that type of negligence.

 

I agree. At that mileage the oil is dark as molasses. This is still somewhat transparent. I posted on bitog and they are blown away as well.


Does anyone know where the oil come up to the cams from the pump
? I want to see if that is clogged.

 

My insurance may cover this for car tampering. (someone messed with the oil) fingers crossed.

There is metal shavings in the oil.

If the insurance pays out would you junk/sell the car or swap the engine?... 136k mile.. 2008....

 

Update. Rx is scheduled for a heart transplant from the cousin - hybrid highlander. Insurance cover the cost after the deductible!

I have 2010 RX450H, I'm looking for a god instructions, pictures and video on How to replace Thermostat and Coolant temp sensor. Im getting P0128 code, temperature gague does rises but little below the mid line and I never saw at mid line ever.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
