RX400H Yr 2008 - Center Storage Console "Close" Button won't pop back up
 

Hi, Can anyone help me? The "close" button won't pop back up when my console is closed. It only pops back up when it's open. See pictures. (please excuse the dirty car, I'm taking it in for detailing soon)
I tried using pliers to fork it out but that didn't help...Thanks! - Layla

You need to use a pick or a very small screw driver and pry and lift it back up. It will pop off most likely. Exposing a spring and the plastic rod at the base that is the trigger. You need to line up the grooves on the side of the now popped lit button with the corresponding slots in the space. All while carefully placing the spring around the trigger mechanism and sliding the circular shaft at the bottom of the button into the corresponding circle that surrounds the plastics trigger.

Has anyone had any luck replacing their center console with a used one found online? I'm looking at replacing mine, wanted to know if it was worth the trouble. Thanks!

i have found a new console. Before I buy, can I install this myself? How do I do it?

you need to clean the track spring and slots
someone has spilled coffee or soda on it and that makes it sticky .Try some hot water or contact cleaner Then some wd 40 or similar
