Usually Dot 4 will work fine. Sometimes older fluids are discontinued.

Bled the brakes yesterday and the brake fluid was quite alright, wasn't as dark as I expected it. Got a little worried on first one cause pedal firmed up after a few pumps, thought I couldn't pump anymore. But upon further inspection, pedal could continued to be compressed but just needed to press harder.

Also, I spoke with a honda technician about the use of software such as techstream to fully bleed the system. He told me that it's a bunch of gimmicks and the manual way is probably the best way to do it.
