BSM Check on ES300h
My BSM doesn't work, the light came up with the message "Check BSM System", the vehicle is still under original manuf. guaranty. I called Lexus and ask if it will be covered under the warranty and they couldn't give me a straight answer, except told me to bring it in.
I wonder if anyone had this problem and did it covered with the warranty. I'm not able to schedule with them until 2 weeks from now, so I feel uneasy.

I suspect that that is the key and the reason why the dealer's service department hedged a bit about whether it would be covered by the warranty. If the sensor was damaged by being bumped or otherwise damaged, the repairs would likely not be covered by the warranty.
The BSM sensors are completely covered inside the rear fenders. They are
not visible and vulnerable as with the Park Assist sensors (the dime sized
circles on the front and rear bumpers). Manual does refer to keeping the
outer painted surface clear or excessive snow or debris but it would be
pretty tough to hit the car hard enough to damage the BSM system with
out an obvious hit. Thinking outside the box - installed a hitch for a bike
rack?
