Default Brake Malfunction

Anyone encountered this on their GS450h?

Lexus said ABS Actuator and Brake Master Pump Faulty and wanted to charge around 9k to get it fixed.

Another bugbear of driving a hybrid - even the brake master pump is pricey unconventional piece of equipment.

Common problem, buy used one off ebay. I believe gs430, ls460 have the same abs pump aswell. Used they sell for $100-up

Lexus said I had to replace them.

Once in a while, the brake assist seems to fail and I'd have to step twice as hard on the brake pedal to get the same braking power.

The display will show "Brake Malfunction" but it'll be fine again after a restart.

There is a Lexus Service Campaign on it. Take it to the dealer and they will replace for free.

For anyone who has the same issue, in the end I found a mechanic and replaced the ABS pump for about 3k.
